Recombinant Secondary Antibody

Recombinant Secondary Antibody are a series of products toward the immunoglobulins from different species(mouse, rabbit, human, cynomolgus, rat, goat, alpaca,etc.)


By fusing single domain antibody(Nanobody, VHH) derived from the variable regions of heavy chain of Alpaca pacous to Fc segment (rabbit IgG/mouse IgG/goat IgG), AlpVHHs offers a range of antibody products, including naked antibody, Biotin or HRP labeled antibody, fluorescent molecular labeled antibody. Those products are useful and efficient for Western Blotting(WB), Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay(ELISA), Immunoprecipitation(IP), Immunofluorescence(IF), Immunocytochemistry(ICC), Flow Cytometry(FCM), Immunohistochemistry(IHC) , etc.

 



VHH-The smallest antibody

Camelids (alpaca, llama, camel, vicuna and guanaco) can produce two non-canonical immunoglobulins alongside the conventional IgG1. IgG2 and IgG3 are known as heavy chain only antibodies. They have single domain binding sites (VHH), and do not contain CH1 domains or light chains.

The size of VHH is extremely small(<15KDa) compared to other forms of antibody fragment, which significantly increase the permeability of VHH. VHH contains longer CDRs compared to conventional antibodies, and provide the antibody access to recessed antigenic sites not available to canonical antibodies.

Thus VHH is considered of great value for research, medical diagnostics, therapeutics, biosensors, crystallization partners, and detection of small molecules.

Targeting

The small size and long CDR3 loop of the VHH antibodies allows better access to cryptic epitopes compared to conventional antibodies.

Stability

VHH antibodies have good solubility and are stable to heat, proteases and pH extremes.

Production

VHH antibodies are easy to clone and modify. They can be recombinant produced at high levels in bacterial, yeast, and mammalian expression systems. Consistent and reproducible results can be guaranteed.

Modification

VHH domain is small and stable, so VHH antibodies can be designed in a variety of structural formats. VHH can act as a framework for recombinant Fc fused antibody production or creating new antibodies by combination two or more VHHs.
